About AFTEX
The regional voice of ASEAN textiles
Founded in 1978, AFTEX is Southeast Asia’s regional trade organisation for the textile and apparel industry. Its members are national associations, each representing an extensive base of manufacturers, exporters and suppliers in its home country.
From fibre and fabric to finished garments, AFTEX connects the industries of nine member countries so that ASEAN can compete as one region.
The Federation is governed by its Council, which brings together the Chief Delegates of every member association. The Council meets regularly, rotating among member countries, and the Permanent Secretariat carries its decisions forward between meetings.
AFTEX works with regional and international partners, convenes industry platforms such as APTEXPO and Asia Sourcing, and represents the shared interests of ASEAN’s textile and apparel sector.
